The boiler water level gauge needs to be cleaned regularly to avoid affecting its use. Generally, the flushing method is adopted. Before cleaning, first close the secondary valve of the water level gauge, then open the drain valve of the water level gauge, and then close the drain valve after the water is drained. At this time, the flushing of the water level gauge starts. There are two flushing methods:

1. Water flushing

First, close the primary and secondary valves on the steam side and water side of the water level gauge, and isolate the water level gauge. Then open the drain valve of the water level gauge, close the drain valve after the water is drained, and then start the flushing of the water level gauge. The pressure of the flushing water level gauge is controlled by opening and closing the secondary valve at the water side. Slowly and slightly open the secondary valve at the water side of the water level gauge to make the water flow through the connecting pipe between the secondary valve at the water side and the valve at the water steam side, the secondary valve at the steam side and the water level gauge in turn to fill the water level gauge. Then close the secondary valve at the water side, open the drain valve, and take away the dirt depending on the pressure in the water level gauge and the weight of the water. Check after repeated flushing. If the water level gauge is clear, stop flushing.

2. Steam flushing

First, fully close the primary and secondary valves of the water level gauge, then slightly open the blowdown valve, open the primary valve at the steam side to fully open, and then slowly open the secondary valve at the steam side for 1/5 turn. Use the high-pressure steam to wash the scaling mica flakes, and adjust the flow of high-pressure steam by controlling the opening of the secondary valve at the steam side (the opening should not be too large, otherwise the fuse will block the channel). The flushing time is 3-5 minutes. If the water level gauge is clear, the flushing can be stopped. After flushing, close the secondary valve, drain valve and primary valve.
